The city of Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina and is located in Wake County. It’s widely known as the “City of Oaks”, due to its beautiful oak trees in the heart of the city.
Raleigh is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States and the second-largest city in North Carolina, after Charlotte. It is a part of the Research Triangle Park, which also includes Durham and Chapel Hill.
Raleigh’s primary neighboring towns include Cary, Morrisville, Clayton, Wake Forest and Rolesville. While Raleigh has a sense of small-town charm, its up-and-coming metropolis makes it a highly promising place to live.
RTP is home to more than 200 companies and over 50,000 people working in fields like microelectronics, biotechnology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and environmental sciences.

Also, Golf is a major activity in Raleigh, and public golf courses can be found across the metropolitan area.
Raleigh is located perfectly for weekend trips to the beach or mountains. Carolina Beach is two hours away. And if you love the mountains, you can get to Ashville in less than four hours.
The summers here are incredibly hot. But the winters are pleasant and mild and nothing like the sort of snow and ice you see in places like New England. The average temperature in Raleigh for the winter is 43 degrees, while the summer sees an average of 78 degrees.
The commute in Triangle isn’t a headache. No matter where you work, in Raleigh or in the surrounding area, the average commute usually doesn’t exceed 23 minutes. That, of course, excludes weekday rush hours, when getting between Raleigh and Durham can take well over an hour. If you are a committed environmentalist, you’ll be happy to learn that 2,2% of people in Raleigh are walking and biking to work.
